Zeta Alpha Omicron Sorority

ZAO, a Greek word for giving the Life
of God, are the sisters to ZOE the Life
of God. Zao was started at a church in
the inner city of Chicago's far Southside
on July 10, 1995.

The ladies were developed from a
discipleship program in the church and
the need for sisterhood. Chamin Abner
a member of the church decided that the
ladies of the church also had some
demons to stomp.

So they began meeting on Thursday
evenings and Chamin asked Rev.
Comer to assist in developing the very
first "I Know I've Been Changed" step.

After that step, Female Steppers for
Christ was born. The name was changed
in 1997 to show the brotherhood and
sisterhood unity between the two
ministries.

ZAO like their brothers have ministered
all over the United States of America
drawing youth in housing projects in
CA, AR, CN and now college campuses.

They've been committed to serving the
elderly and the homeless.
Neighborhood clean-ups and prison
ministry.

The latest move of God is his door
opening at Eastern IL University. ZAO
has become the first Christian Sorority
on the campus.

Since then we have had another college
line. Florida Memorial College had
their first ZAO Line, BETA Chapter of
ZAO, cross in December 2001.
Congratulations to all of the new
sisters! Now it's time for you to take
your campus for Jesus.
